Today I was feeling really uninspired and tired... even the things that I usually find most interesting weren't able to sustain my interest for more than a few minutes. I figured, as long as I'm not going to enjoy this day (I suppose I could've gone outside for a while longer, but I hate going outside just because I feel like I have to take advantage of the weather... it's a strange form of peer pressure that Seattle forces on me and I'm tired of it), as long as I'm not going to enjoy this day though, I might as well build a generic script that I can reuse for all future websites... something that just takes a simple config file and automatically builds the mysql tables, figures out login stuff, has a way to email people their lost passwords (another script I hate writing), allows people to update their personal info, handles cookies and encrypted passwords intelligently, and basically lets me get straight to the fun stuff. So that's what I did. Now I have it. I might make it available if anyone wants it, but I doubt anyone does. The whole thing consists of a config file, a script, a perl module, and a template. Save all and close.
