That's a pretty good essay,
even though to me it seems little more than a rehash of ideas and themes already pounded to death in James Gleick's Faster (which he actually mentions) and Silicon Valley Snake Oil, by Clifford Stoll.
Still, Lightman wasn't nearly as heavy handed as those other two authors, and I'm a huge fan of his book, Einstein's Dreams.
